Govee RGBIC LED Strip Lights

The strip that shows multiple colors at once instead of one sad uniform glow. Segmented RGBIC plus a genuinely good app makes this the smart-lighting gateway drug.

What we liked
  • RGBIC segments show several colors on one strip at the same time
  • Govee Home app is excellent — 64+ scenes, DIY mode, timers
  • Cheapest real entry point into addressable smart lighting
What we didn't
  • This variant is Bluetooth-only — no Alexa or Google voice control
  • Adhesive gives up on textured walls within weeks

Most cheap LED strips light up one color at a time, which gets boring fast. The RGBIC trick here is that the strip is chopped into independent segments, so a rainbow can actually crawl along it instead of the whole thing sitting on teal. It looks twice the price from across the room.

The Govee Home app is the real product. Sixty-four-plus scene presets, a DIY editor where you paint each segment yourself, music sync through your phone mic, and scheduling that actually works. Setup took us under five minutes including pairing.

Two catches. This specific model is Bluetooth-only, so Alexa and Google can’t touch it — Govee sells a WiFi version if that matters to you. And the stock adhesive peels on anything textured; keep some mounting clips or 3M tape handy if your walls aren’t smooth drywall.
