Most sunset lamps sit on a tripod and swivel a little. The Neroupe ditches that for a full gooseneck, which changes what the lamp can do: bend it up and your whole ceiling becomes the sunset, which is the correct way to use one of these from a bed or a couch.
The light itself is a step up from the bargain disc lamps. The RGB+W bead layout mixes in true white with the colors, so the gradient from hot center to soft edge looks blended instead of banded. In a dark room the difference is obvious — this reads as a glow, not a projector circle.
Two honest gripes. The gooseneck holds its position fine day to day, but leave it cranked at a sharp angle for weeks and it starts to droop — gentle curves age better. And the USB cable is short enough that placement is dictated by your nearest outlet unless you add a power bank. Neither ruins it; both are worth knowing before you commit to a corner.
