Hanging a green screen is the classic streaming rite of passage: thumbtacks, sagging muslin, twenty minutes with a steamer, and a key that still flickers at the wrinkles. Elgato’s answer is a chroma panel that lives inside its own aluminum case. Set the case on the floor, pull the handle up, and a pneumatic scissor frame raises a flat, taut, wrinkle-resistant green wall behind your chair. Retracting it takes about ten seconds.
That flatness is the whole point. Software keying — whether it’s OBS filters or your camera app’s background replacement — lives and dies on how even the green is, and a tensioned panel gives the algorithm a uniform target that hanging fabric rarely manages. Lighting still matters, but you’re no longer fighting creases on top of it.
The honest caveats: the case is a 9kg slab you’ll stub a toe on, it needs a strip of clear floor behind your setup, and at 148cm wide it covers a seated streamer perfectly but runs out of green fast if you stand and gesture. If you have a permanent wall to sacrifice, paint it and pocket the difference. If you don’t, this is the least annoying way to own a green screen.
