What we liked
  • Low-profile design sits below your monitors — no arm photobombing your camera frame
  • Hidden cable channels with magnetic covers make the XLR run genuinely invisible
  • Buttery, silent repositioning with 360-degree rotation at the base and head
  • Clamp is rock-solid and swallows heavy broadcast mics without drooping
What we didn't
  • A hundred bucks is a lot for a thing that holds another thing
  • Less vertical reach than a tall scissor arm — low profile is the whole point
  • Clamp-only, so desks with a fat rear lip or cable trays can be a fight

Most boom arms are tall scissor contraptions that stick up into your camera frame like they own the place. The Wave Mic Arm LP goes the other way: it rises just enough to get the mic to your mouth and stays below your monitor sightline, so on camera the mic appears from the bottom of the frame like a proper broadcast setup.

The details are where the Elgato tax starts feeling justified. The XLR cable routes through hidden channels under magnetic covers — no velcro ties, no cable sagging off the arm like a wounded vine. Every pivot moves smoothly and silently, the base and head rotate a full 360 degrees, and the clamp holds heavy broadcast mics without the slow droop cheaper arms develop within a month.

The honest caveat: it’s a premium price for a mounting accessory, and a bargain-bin scissor arm will technically hold your mic too. What you’re paying for is the low silhouette, the silence, and never thinking about the arm again. If your desk has a thick rear lip or an attached cable tray, measure before you buy — the clamp needs a clean edge.
